Steven & Fiona’s wedding at Armathwaite Hall, Keswick, Lake District wedding photography

On the 03rd December I attended the wedding of Steven and Fiona. The service was held at Our Lady of the Lakes & St Charles Borromeo Church in Keswick, followed by the reception at the wonderful Armathwaite Hall, Keswick, Cumbria.
Armathwaite Hall really is one of the best wedding venues in the Lake District, with fantastic facilities, excellent service and amazing views. The hotel set in the secluded splendour of 400 acres of deer park and woodland, bordered by the beauty of Bassenthwaite Lake and framed by the dramatic Skiddaw Mountain and Lake District fells.
It was great to be finishing my year with 2 great venues for my December weddings, the second venue being The Swan Hotel at Newby Bridge. Winter weddings can often be challenging with both the weather and the light available. Today was a very cold and windy day so we decided not to take any of the family shot outside and just spent a short time with Steven and Fiona who were good sports and chose to brave the elements for 15 minutes to capture some great images outside.
The remainder of the day for me was to photograph their speeches and the first dance. The speeches are one of my favourite parts of the day to capture, with genuine emotion, whether this is laughter or embarrassment. After these, it was not long before photographing their first dance, and then time for me to leave the celebrations and head home after a very enjoyable Lake District wedding.
I must also say Thank You to Dave Draffen from Carlisle who provided the video service on the day, always a pleasure to work with and would thoroughly recommend to anyone who is looking at hiring a videographer for their wedding.
Below is a small selection of my favourite images from the day.
