James and Kerrie’s wedding at Winder Hall, Lorton and the Saints Rooms, Cockermouth, Cumbria.

On the 28^th May I was at Winder Hall to photograph the wedding of James and Kerrie. It was great to catch up with the couple and their family after the pre-wedding shoot we did together a few weeks earlier. The venue they had chosen for their special day was Winder Hall in Lorton. It really is a fantastic Lake District wedding venue for small to medium sized weddings, always well run and they always seem to be able to make each wedding unique and personal to the couple. The hotel has also just been awarded 5 stars from the AA guide along with the numerous other awards, which are very much deserved.

The weather was very changeable for the day and we were lucky to be able get a few outdoor shots while the rain stopped, although this did limit our choice of pictures due to the gardens being very wet. There were a couple of shots I was really hoping to try if the weather had permitted but I guess I will have to save them for another day.

James and Kerrie hired the use of a 1948 AEC Regal coach, affectionately known as ‘Florence’, to take them to their reception venue, the Saints Rooms in Cockermouth. The coach was supplied by Cumbria Classic Coaches, this is the second time I have worked with them and I have always been impressed with the level of service they offer. This particular coach has had a fairly staring past, with appearances on ‘Heartbeat’, ‘Island at War’ and ‘Songs of Praise’!

The Saints Rooms, also owned and run by Winder Hall, is another great venue with the same high level of service as you would expect at the hotel, the food is very good too! The evening disco was supplied by ‘Dynamic Entertainment’ and a great live band called ‘Bay6’.
