Jamie and Rachel’s wedding at the Low Wood Hall Hotel, Wasdale and Westlakes Hotel, Gosforth.

On the 30th April I was at the Low Wood Hall Hotel in Nether Wasdale to photograph the wedding of Jamie and Rachel. This was my first visit to the Low Wood Hall and its set in a wonderful location with fantastic views down the Wasdale Valley.
The cars for the day were supplied by ‘Touch of Class’ based in Workington, they always supply a great service and a joy to work with them on wedding days.
After the service Jamie, Rachel and their guests had a relaxing hour in the gardens at Low Wood Hall before heading to Westlakes Hotel, at Gosforth. The Westlakes Hotel is a great venue, with a fantastic purpose built marque on the side of the hotel. The venue is always very well run to high standards, with the food and service to match. Another highly recommended hotel to consider when searching for a Lake District wedding venue.
Photographing the speeches was a particularly enjoyable part of the day for me; technically it was great to have so much light in the marque for these shots and also to have a great deal of area to move around without being obtrusive.
Because of the limited amount of time we had for photographs before the wedding breakfast we had agreed to spend a few minutes afterwards to capture some of the formal shots that Jamie and Rachel had requested. The light was also a lot better at this point in the day with the hotel proving a great deal of shade on the front lawns.
The evening’s entertainment was provided by ‘Collision’, who are a 5 piece band based in West Cumbria, they provided great live music after the couple’s first dance.
Below is a selection of my favourite images from the day.
