Choosing confetti that photographs beautifully

If your venue allows it, biodegradable petals and larger paper shapes tend to float longer — which usually means better photos. A little planning (and a bit more confetti than you think) makes the moment feel fuller and more joyful.

Quick checklist: biodegradable / venue-friendly bigger petals / shapes colour contrast envelopes / cones order early (or delayed delivery)

Tip: some venues (especially churches and outdoor sites) restrict plastic or foil confetti — when in doubt, ask the venue and stick to petals, paper circles, or botanical blends.

FAQs

How much confetti should we buy?
As a rough guide, aim for at least one good handful per guest who’ll be throwing it. If you want a fuller “confetti tunnel”, ordering extra usually pays off.
What type of confetti looks best in photos?
Petals (delphinium / rose / wildflower) and larger paper shapes tend to float longer and show up more clearly, especially with contrasting colours.
What if our venue doesn’t allow confetti?
Ask what they do allow — bubbles, ribbon wands, or biodegradable paper options are sometimes permitted even when petals aren’t. Your venue will usually have a clear policy.
